Foilglide II
Windsurfing foil sail
Are you looking for a specially developed foil sail and do you already have more experience with foiling? Then the Foilglide 2 from Severne is definitely for you.
The Foilglide is a design by Severne and is a freeride sail with cambers specially made for foiling. A foil sail with cambers is not necessarily recommended for novice foilers but more suitable for surfers with more experience. Foil sails are generally cut higher and a lot narrower, the reason for this is that you don’t want too much pressure at the bottom of your sail so that you are overpowered too quickly. In order to still be able to maintain a large wind range and more lift, they have therefore gone up with the foil sails.
The Foilglide can also be booked as a mega light sail. And that is very nice for foiling, because if you are floating on your foil at 1 meter above the water, you do not want a heavy sail pulling on you. The 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0 have 3 cambers in the sail, while the 8.0 has the largest size 4 cambers. It is recommended to use an RDM mast for these sails, this greatly benefits the weight and the cambers.
Features of the Foilglide II:
- Very lightweight
- High centre of lift – Increases leverage for efficiency. Improves pumpability
- Reduced draft movement means there’s less influence on trim.
- The FoilGlide is THE choice for freeride foiling.
